The Green
Dover, DE 19901
As one of the town's three public squares, The Green is surrounded by shops, government buildings, homes and taverns, and is said to be haunted. An angrry judge's apparition is said to linger here and walk among the tombstones nearby and out onto the Green. The location is the site where Delaware voted to ratify the U.S. Constitution.

I was driving through the green in Dover DE this morning and I saw a man standing on the western side of the green, on the sidewalk and in front of one of the old houses. He appeared to be wearing a long faded blue wool coat which was unusual for this time of year because the temp is still in the 60's and 70's. I looked at him again a second later and he was gone. There are frequently old time re-enactors on the green and that's what I thought he was initially but actors don't disappear! When I came back through the green ten minutes later there were no re-enactors in the area. Today is the day before Halloween so a little spooky encounter is always welcome! 10/30/21 JNIII.
